I like to buy the bagged coleslaw mix, it has a blend of purple cabbage, green cabbage, and carrots.

What type of mayonnaise should I use for the dill coleslaw dressing?

I used Hellman's 1/2 fat Mayonnaise. I also tried this with Miracle Whip but it was far too sweet and I don't recommend it.

How far in advance can I make dill pickle coleslaw before serving?

I recommend making this an hour or two ahead of time (at least). Make sure you keep it refrigerated. Whipping up the fresh dill coleslaw a few hours in advance helps the flavors meld together.
